Crufts 2016 - pick of the pooches

The annual
Crufts
Dog Show took place at the NEC Arena in Birmingham this weekend.

Competitors came from all over the world in the hope of claiming the top prize.

The show began in 1891, when travelling dog-biscuit salesman Charles Cruft held a competition for dogs at the Royal Agricultural Hall in Islington, London.

Crufts even continued his contest throughout the First World War

Today, between 22,000 and 24,000 dogs from across the world take part in the four-day competition.
