Gwyneth Paltrow; Jamie Foxx; Kanye West
The mystery behind Gwyneth Paltrow’s feud with Vanity Fair may be solved. The 41-year-old actress told friends months ago not to cooperate with the venerable magazine’s efforts to put together a forthcoming cover story on her. According to the New York Post, Paltrow had learned the magazine was investigating rumors that she had an extramarital affair in 2008 with Miami billionaire hotelier Jeff Soffer, who recently married Elle Macpherson. Paltrow has been married to Coldplay singer Chris Martin since 2003, and her representatives denied she’d had any romantic relationship with Soffer, calling him a “longtime friend.” Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter confirmed he will run a piece on Paltrow, despite her attempts to stymie reporters. “She sort of forced my hand,” he said.
Jamie Foxx has denied having a clandestine affair with Katie Holmes. Gossip-mongers claimed that the Django Unchained star had begun a secret romance with the actress, who divorced Tom Cruise last year. Multiple sources told In Touch magazine that the pair began seeing each other during the summer after being spotted dancing at a party in the Hamptons. “They’re very Mission: Impossible about their romance,” said one. The allegations were “100 percent not true,” said Foxx, who is close friends with Cruise. “In fact, it’s quite hilarious because we simply danced at a charity event along with a lot of other people.”
Kanye West will finally make an honest woman of Kim Kardashian, after popping the question on her 33rd birthday this week. The rapper, 36, proposed to the mother of his daughter, North, with characteristic extravagance, renting out AT&T Park in San Francisco for her family and friends so he could flash the words -“PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!” on the stadium’s Jumbotron. After Kardashian said yes, a 50-piece orchestra played the song “Young and Beautiful.’’ The marriage will be West’s first and the third for Kardashian, who was previously married to music producer Damon Thomas and (very briefly) basketball player Kris Humphries.
