Show of the week: Bridegroom
Inspired by a YouTube video tribute that went viral, Bridegroom plays as a moving, well-told love story.
Shane Bitney Crone and Tom Bridegroom were a fairly typical gay couple. Together for years, they jointly purchased a home, adopted a dog, and figured they’d wed when their state made gay marriage legal. Then, an accident happened: Tom fell four stories to his death. Because the couple hadn’t married, Crone had no recourse when Bridegroom’s family barred him from the hospital and funeral, refusing to even acknowledge the victim’s sexuality. Inspired by a YouTube video tribute that went viral, Bridegroom plays as a moving, well-told love story. Sunday, Oct. 27, at 10 p.m., OWN
