Tip of the week: Morning makeup for bright eyes
Reduce the puffiness; Conceal and brighten; Choose natural hues
Reduce the puffiness. New gel-based eye serums, like Lancôme’s Génifique Yeux, ready the skin for makeup by increasing hydration. The serums come with metal applicators whose cool touch helps reduce bags under the eyes by causing blood vessels to constrict.
Conceal and brighten. “A concealer with light-reflecting particles is like a cup of coffee for your face.” For the full brightening effect, be sure not to miss the inner corners of your eyes and the sides of your nose as you apply the concealer. Darkness in those areas “can make you look haggard.”
Choose natural hues. Finish the lower lid with a flesh-colored liner; it’ll conceal even the redness that can result from a lack of sleep. On the upper lid, try applying a taupe shadow. Darker shades will make the eyes appear sunken.
