At this year's Tony Awards, Matilda and Kinky Boots will do battle for musical supremacy.
Another year, another awful host. Oh, wait. That’s the Oscars—annual showcase for a cringe-making emcee performance. But while the best Hollywood could do in recent years was dig up a cryogenically unfrozen Billy Crystal to host its big show, Broadway has Neil Patrick Harris. This year’s crop of Tony nominees doesn’t include a Book of Mormon or a Once, but Matilda and Kinky Boots will do battle for musical supremacy, and Harris should once again prove the perfect combination of showman, wit, and all-around genial fellow. Sunday, June 9, at 8 p.m., CBS
