A Florida bowling alley fell into frightened silence at the sound of a gunshot, but it was only a bowler accidentally triggering a loaded pistol in his pocket. “The guy just stepped up to bowl,’’ said a witness. “I think he hit his leg on his back swing.’’ The man limped back to his seat with a leg wound, which was not life-threatening.

A Florida high school senior was expelled and charged with a felony for participating in a consensual, same-sex relationship with her freshman girlfriend. Kaitlyn Hunt was arrested shortly after she turned 18 and charged with “lewd and lascivious battery’’ of a minor at the behest of her girlfriend’s parents. “They feel like my daughter made their daughter gay,’’ said Hunt’s mother.
