This set captures Elvis Presley “at his peak,” said the New York Daily News. The 37-year-old king of rock ’n’ roll was nervous in 1972 as he prepared for his first-ever New York concerts, but he and his “killer band” delivered, and the crowd loved it. Two of the shows are included here.

Fritz Lang: The Early Works

None of these three films from German director Fritz Lang are on par with his later Metropolis, but “they remain fascinating melodramas from one of cinema’s masters,” said the Portland Oregonian. The most intriguing is 1921’s Four Around the Woman, about a pair of stolen earrings.

The dozen mini films here range from “merely good” to “pants-wettingly hilarious,” said Entertainment Weekly. When the Ken and Barbie dolls from Toy Story take a Hawaiian vacation, Barbie’s dim-bulb beau is “so awesomely oblivious,” you’ll be hoping that someday he gets his own feature.
