The first TV series in a generation to recount humankind’s full history, this six-episode documentary embraces scholars’ new ideas about the grand forces and patterns that have shaped our shared tale. Actor Josh Brolin narrates this “big history” account, which stresses the unlikelihood of our ancestors’ survival, then zeroes in on such key events as the Ice Age, the advent of farming, the discovery of the New World, and the fall of the Aztec empire.
