Titanic: Blood and Steel

Bringing up the rear in the spate of programming tied to the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, this 12-part miniseries eschews the story of the ship’s doomed maiden voyage and instead dramatizes its construction, mixing real and fictional characters. Set mostly in the northern Irish city of Belfast, it features careful period detail and some fine performances, particularly Derek Jacobi as shipbuilder Lord William Pirrie and Chris Noth as financier J.P.
