Show of the week: Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations
The final season of Bourdain's travel/food show starts with barbecue at Austin's South by Southwest festival.
“Make fun of hipsters all you like. God knows I do,” chef and author Bourdain tells viewers as his travel/food show begins its ninth and final season. But it’s also clear that Bourdain enjoyed himself at this year’s South by Southwest festival in Austin, sampling barbecue and other local specialties with several bands. Visiting Franklin Barbecue, where the wait in line lasts hours, Bourdain is reverent, proclaiming “the indefinable awesomeness” of brisket smoked for 18 hours over an oak fire. It’s all mouthwatering, including the music. Monday, Sept. 3, at 9 p.m., Travel Channel
