Romney fund-raising tops Obama’s

Fueled by a nonstop schedule of big donor events around the country, Mitt Romney and the Republican National Committee outraised President Obama’s fund-raising machine in June, for the second month in a row. Romney’s campaign brought in $106 million in June, compared with Obama’s $71 million, giving the contender and his party four times the cash they had just three months ago. The disparity is causing alarm in the Obama campaign, which pled for supporters to step up. “This is no joke,” said Ann Marie Habershaw, the Obama campaign’s chief operating officer, in a panicky email to potential donors. “We could lose if this continues.”
