New statistics on job separations
For the first time since September 2008, more people are quitting their jobs than are being laid off by their employers. Fifty-one percent of so-called job separations in February were due to workers quitting, according to the most recently available government data.

IMF raises estimates for global economy
The outlook for the global economy is improving, according to the International Monetary Fund, which this week raised its estimates for global growth to 3.5 percent for 2012. That’s up slightly from the fund’s last projection, in January, of 3.3 percent. The euro crisis and a spike in oil prices, the fund said, remain big risks.
