Gossip: Josh Hamilton
The Texas Rangers slugger had a relapse for the second time since he got sober in 2005.
Texas Rangers slugger Josh Hamilton had a relapse with alcohol last week, said Deadspin.com. The four-time All-Star, whose career was once nearly sunk by drug and alcohol addiction, admitted to having “three or four” drinks in a Dallas bar on Jan. 30. Teammate Ian Kinsler unsuccessfully tried to convince him to go home. This is the second time Hamilton, 30, has relapsed since he got sober in 2005. In a press conference, Hamilton apologized, citing unspecified “personal reasons,” which led to a “weak moment.”
