Super PAC donors named by FEC
Among the most generous donors were Harold Simmons, Sheldon Adelson, and Jeffrey Katzenberg.
The names of donors to the nation’s Super PACs were disclosed this week by the Federal Election Commission. Among the most generous: Harold Simmons, a Dallas businessman, who donated a total of $7 million to American Crossroads, Republican strategist Karl Rove’s Super PAC. Las Vegas mogul Sheldon Adelson and his wife, Miriam, donated $5 million each to a pro–Newt Gingrich Super PAC. The pro–Mitt Romney Super PAC Restore Our Future received $1 million each from 10 donors, including Bill Koch and Houston Republican Bob Perry. President Obama’s top donor was Jeffrey Katzenberg, who gave $2 million to a group called Priorities USA Action.
