Gossip: Kim Kardashian, Kris Humphries
The newlyweds are calling it quits after 72 days.
Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries are calling it quits after just 72 days, amid reports that their marriage was a publicity stunt designed to boost TV ratings, said TMZ.com. Kardashian, 31, filed for divorce this week, citing irreconcilable differences with the New Jersey Nets forward. Gossip websites reported that producers of her E! television reality show wanted Kim to date an athlete, and originally approached another NBA player before Humphries. Kardashian and Humphries were married in a $10 million ceremony in August. She denied that the marriage was a stunt, and insisted she made no money selling TV and photo rights. “I had hoped my marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned,” said Kardashian.
