“I really am American; there’s no ifs, ands, (or) buts about it,” says Mike Jaafar, a deputy chief sheriff in Dearborn, Mich., who, with his wife, Angela, is raising four children in the Muslim faith. Theirs is one of five Muslim families in Dearborn featured in this eye-opening eight-part series, which focuses on its subjects’ efforts to balance the requirements of faith with everyday American life.
