Gossip: Katie Couric
Couric will leave the CBS Evening News in June.
Katie Couric confirmed this week that she’s stepping down as anchor of the CBS Evening News. Her departure in June will end her five-year tenure as the first female lead anchor on a network nightly newscast; during that time the program’s steep ratings decline continued. Current 60 Minutes correspondent Scott Pelley will reportedly get the anchor’s job.
