Gossip: Katie Couric, Matt Lauer
Will Couric and Lauer co-host a syndicated talk show?
Katie Couric and Matt Lauer could be planning a reunion, said The New York Times. One week after Couric announced that she’s planning to step down as anchor of the CBS Evening News, sources say she may be looking to rejoin forces with her old Today show colleague Lauer as co-hosts of a syndicated talk show. Lauer’s contract at the Today show is up in 2012. To keep him on the top-rated morning show, NBC might offer as much as $25 million a year. “It seems likely that NBC will keep Matt,” says one insider. “But [a reunion] is not out of the question.”
