AMC's gripping new detective show is based on a Swedish series.
Compelling characters and fine performances drive this grim but gripping new series. Mireille Enos (Big Love) plays a Seattle police detective who is on her last day of duty when a young woman is found dead in a car belonging to the mayoral campaign of an ambitious councilman (Billy Campbell). Producer Veena Sud, creator of the original Swedish series, builds tension subtly and confidently as the characters’ secrets come to light; the strong cast includes Michelle Forbes as the victim’s grieving mother.
