700-pound dolphin lands on boat
A Florida woman taking a leisurely boat ride on the Marco River suddenly found herself with a 700-pound dolphin on her back, after the creature jumped out of the water and landed on the boat. The woman was knocked to the deck, spraining her ankle, but was not badly injured. The dolphin, meanwhile, frantically flipped around the deck, until the boat docked and police were able to lift it back into the water. “It seemed to know that we were trying to help,” one of the police rescuers said.

A Mexican man is closing in on his goal of covering his entire body with tattoos of actress Julia Roberts. Miljenko Parserisas Bukovic, 56, a newspaper seller from Valparaiso, says he was inspired to get his first tattoo by Roberts’s Oscar-winning performance in 2000’s Erin Brockovich. Since then Bukovic has added another 81 tattoos depicting Roberts from various movie scenes, up and down both arms and across his back and chest. He says he will continue to add new Roberts tattoos until he runs out of money or body parts.
A fearful burglar calls 911
An Oregon woman called 911 to report an intruder hiding in her bathroom, just as the intruder was calling 911 to report his concerns that the homeowner might be armed. On 911 tapes released by police, Timothy Chapek admits breaking into the home and tells the dispatcher the owner behind the bathroom door might have a gun. He’d also heard the owner say she had two German shepherds. Later, the homeowner can be heard warning Chapek that she’s about to call the police, to which Chapek yells back: “I’ve already called them. They’re on the phone right now.”
