Actor Mel Gibson was planning to plead “no contest” this week to a misdemeanor charge of battery on former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, in return for a promise he’d serve no jail time, said TMZ.com. The charge stems from a 2010 argument between Gibson and Grigorieva in which, she says, he physically attacked her as she held their infant daughter.
