From 1973 to ’92, coach Jerry Tarkanian and his University of Nevada at Las Vegas men’s basketball team pioneered an aggressive style of play that led to four appearances in the Final Four and a remarkable 509-105 record. But the team’s swagger also incurred the ire of the NCAA, which banned UNLV from post-season competition when one of Tarkanian’s top recruits bought cocaine from an undercover cop in 1987. This colorful profile features interviews with top UNLV players, Las Vegas native Jimmy Kimmel, and Tarkanian himself. Saturday, March 12, at 9:30 p.m., HBO
