Gossip: Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera was roundly mocked this week for flubbing the words to the national anthem before Super Bowl XLV. In a typically histrionic performance, the singer, 30, belted out the words, “What so proudly we watched, at the twilight’s last reaming,” in place of the correct “O’er the ramparts we watch’d, were so gallantly streaming.” An apologetic Aguilera admitted she got confused in the heat of the moment. “I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem came through,” she said.
