Sony Music this week sought to reassure fans of Michael Jackson that a new song released on the Internet really is his work, said TMZ.com. Several music bloggers claim the person singing on the track, entitled “Breaking News,” has different vocal inflections than Jackson and is an impostor. In a statement, the label countered that it had “complete confidence,” based on “accounts of those who were in the studio with Michael,” that he did indeed sing on the track, which will be released as part of a posthumous album on Dec. 14.
