Michael Jackson’s father, Joe Jackson, caused a family rift this week when he blamed his wife for the singer’s untimely death. The Jackson family patriarch told a London tabloid that he’d warned his estranged wife, Katherine Jackson, that Michael was “looking kinda funny and frail,” and that if she had looked in on him, “he would still be alive.” A lawyer for Michael’s estate, which Katherine controls, called the claim “preposterous.” Joe Jackson later recanted his statement. “Katherine did not kill my son,” he said.
