Mounted buffalo head falls off wall and traps owner
A Florida man had to be rescued by emergency services after a mounted buffalo head fell off his wall and trapped him in his recliner. Jim Harris, 56, says he was “just sitting there watching the news” when—“kabbam”—everything went dark. Unable to lift the several-hundred-pound head off him, Harris called 911 on his cell phone and was eventually freed by sheriff’s deputies. “This is karma,” said Harris. “Someone shot this thing and now it’s payback. But he got the wrong fella. I didn’t shoot him.”

Before they agree to let Elton John perform in their country, Belarusian officials have asked for tapes of previous concerts to make sure he doesn’t try to convert audiences to homosexuality. The Public Council on Morality said it wants to make sure the gay pop star’s music has “no elements inconsistent with the law and morality.” Council director Nikolai Cherginets noted that gays have been more open in Belarus lately, and “even attempted to hold a gay parade in Minsk.”
Balinese man claims cow was a reincarnated woman
A young Balinese man caught in a compromising position with a local cow has been forced to marry the animal. Ngurah Alit, 18, claims the cow was actually a reincarnated woman and had flirted with him. Village chieftain Ida Bagus Legawa, however, insisted that Alit marry the cow to cleanse the village of “defilement from the incident.” Alit’s mother screamed throughout the ceremony, and Alit himself fainted. “Poor kid,” said one villager. “He’s actually a quiet kid.”
