A concert by 16-year-old teen idol Justin Bieber in Sydney was canceled this week after a stampede of thousands of frenzied girls sent eight to the hospital with minor injuries. A crowd of more than 4,000 fans rushed the stage when word spread that the singer had arrived. Several girls fainted, and officials, citing “mass scenes of hysteria,” called off the performance.
