Conan O’Brien’s brief exile from late-night TV ended this week with the former Tonight Show host agreeing to host a show on cable network TBS. The new show, which will begin in November, will pit O’Brien against archrival Jay Leno, who reassumed hosting duties on The Tonight Show in January. O’Brien had been expected to sign with Fox, but insiders say agreements between Fox affiliates and certain syndicated sitcoms prohibited a deal. “In three months I’ve gone from network television to Twitter to performing live in theaters, and now I’m headed to basic cable,” said O’Brien. “My plan is working perfectly.”
