Olivia Newton-John’s ex-boyfriend, who disappeared in 2005 while on a fishing trip off California, has been found alive and well in Mexico. Dateline NBC hired several private eyes to track down Patrick McDermott, and then got voice imprints and other documentation proving it was really him. McDermott’s lawyer said he no longer wanted to be “hounded” by investigators or the media, NBC said. He faked his drowning death after going bankrupt, hoping his son would collect a $150,000 insurance policy.
