The children of former members of the Mamas and the Papas are backing Mackenzie Phillips’ shocking revelation that she had a 10-year sexual relationship with her father, the band’s late founder, John Phillips. Jessica Woods, the daughter of former band member Denny Doherty, says her father told her about the incestuous affair and was “horrified at what John had done.” The daughter of Mama Cass Elliot, Owen Elliot, also says she knew about the sexual relationship. “I absolutely back [Mackenzie] up 100 percent,” Elliot told Radaronline .com. Mackenzie Phillips discloses the incestuous affair with her father in a new book that also details her longtime addiction to heroin and other drugs.
