Show of the week: The Last Truck: Closing of a GM Plant

The GM Moraine Assembly Plant, near Dayton, Ohio, churned out about 280,000 vehicles each year until it closed in December 2008. For thousands of workers, the plant provided both a community and a source of pride—as well as a paycheck. They ­comment candidly, sometimes bitterly, and often ­eloquently in this documentary, timed to ­coincide with Labor Day. Interviewees mourn not just the end of their jobs but of an American dream.
