Gossip: Jackie Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy
In Bobby and Jackie: A Love Story, C. David Heymann sheds light on the love affair between Jackie Kennedy and Bobby Kennedy.
Just months after John F. Kennedy’s assassination, Jackie Kennedy and Bobby Kennedy began a four-year affair that became so blatant that it was common knowledge among relatives, friends, and Bobby’s wife, Ethel, a new book says. “The two of them carried on like a pair of lovesick teenagers,” the late Franklin Roosevelt Jr., who served as JFK’s undersecretary of commerce, is quoted in the book, Bobby and Jackie: A Love Story. Author C. David Heymann reports that numerous Kennedy family friends saw Jackie and Bobby kissing, hugging, and touching each other in an intimate fashion. “You had to be deaf, dumb, and blind not to see it,” recalled Kennedy family friend Chuck Spalding. The passionate affair ended only when RFK was assassinated in 1968, the book says.
