Fame has finally paid off for one of the Slumdog Millionaire child stars. Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail, who plays the young Salim in the movie, moved with his mom out of their corrugated metal shanty in Mumbai this week and into a $50,000, one-bedroom apartment, courtesy of the film’s director, Danny Boyle. “I was shocked when I saw this house,” said Azhar, 11, before turning on one of his favorite Hindi songs and dancing around the living room. Under terms of the deal, the apartment will become his when he turns 18, provided that he finishes school.
