Show of the week: Teddy: In His Own Words
Emmy winner Peter Kunhardt's video autobiography of Sen. Edward Kennedy weaves archival material, news footage, family films, and rare photographs with excerpts from the senator's interviews, speeches, and recollections.
This painstaking profile of Sen. Edward Kennedy weaves archival material, news footage, family films, and rare photographs with excerpts from the senator’s interviews, speeches, and recollections. The result is a video autobiography of an extraordinary life, as well as a revealing history of post–World War II America. Kennedy himself relates his story from childhood to the present—both the political and the personal, the victories and the tragedies. The film was produced by three-time Emmy winner Peter Kunhardt, who crafted similar portraits of John and Robert Kennedy. Monday, July 13, at 9 p.m., HBO
