Donald Trump last week fired Carrie Prejean as Miss California USA, one month after refusing to do so in the wake of a controversy over her opposition to gay marriage. Trump said Prejean had violated her contract by failing to make appearances on behalf of the pageant, but Prejean said the dismissal was political. “None of this would be happening right now if I just said, Yeah, gays should get married,” she said.
