The Internet: Sites to price your collectibles
You can find advice about antiques, collectibles, and appraisers on these three websites.
Appraisers.org is the home page for the American Society of Appraisers. “You can get free advice from local antiques or collectibles dealers.” This site lets you go a step further and search for accredited appraisers by expertise or to find those located in your area.
Appraisersassoc.org, the home page for the Appraisers Association of America, features a large database of professional appraisers. “Look for an appraiser specializing in the items you have,” from Eskimo art to musical instruments.
Kovels.com “offers free price checks on many collectibles,” from fine crystal to cowbells. You can also find out more about particular fields through their newsletter or directory of appraisers.
