Heathers: 20th High School Reunion Edition

This dark comedy about teen suicide revealed “how awful high school really is,” said The Sacramento Bee. Heathers “peeled back the layers of social hierarchy” and laughed bitterly at the pageant of teen angst. The DVD offers a “Return to Westerberg High” documentary and the original ending.

Mon Oncle Antoine

(Criterion, $39.98)

The “best Canadian film ever” finally makes its way to DVD, said the Toronto Globe and Mail. In this 1971 film, whose title translates to My Uncle Antoine, director Claude Jutra combines a “warm” coming-of-age story with a serious look at Quebec’s social and political conflicts during the 1940s.
