Gossip: Leona Helmsley
Leona Helmsley
Leona Helmsley’s pet dog won’t be getting a $12 million trust fund after all. Last week, a Manhattan judge adjusted several elements of the late hotel magnate’s will to make it more generous to her children and grandchildren, who had argued that Helmsley was not of sound mind when she wrote it. Trouble, a 9-year-old Maltese, will now have to make do with $2 million. Trouble’s caretaker, Carl Lekic, said that amount should pay for the dog’s meals, grooming, medical care, and security for 10 years, or twice her life expectancy.
