Gossip: R. Kelly
Last week a jury found R. Kelly innocent of all 14 counts of child pornography.
After seven hours of deliberation, a Chicago jury last week found R. Kelly innocent of all 14 counts of child pornography initially brought against him six years ago. Prosecutors showed a widely distributed videotape of the R&B singer having sex with a girl they said was 13 years old. But jurors said that because the alleged victim and her family did not testify, they could not be sure it was really her and not someone older. “All of us felt very much the grayness of this case,” said one juror. Kelly cried as the verdict was read, repeating, “Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus.”
