The Internet: Finding specialty mattresses

A review of sites that sell specialty mattresses.

Selectcomfort.com offers Sleep Number beds, whose air chambers allow you to adjust comfort and firmness nightly. Enter your height, weight, and sleeping habits into the online calculator to see its recommendations.

Tempurpedic.com sells the NASA-approved mattresses so familiar from late-night TV. The website also sells pillows and other products made from the pressure-absorbing Swedish Tempur material.

Duxbed.com is the longstanding Swedish company’s home page. Its site lets you review a full array of compression graphs, strength, and sleep quality tests.

Hollandiainternational.com, an Israeli-based bedding company, sells beds that slightly elevate your head and feet for enhanced breathing and proper circulation. Use the “Sleep Engineer Center” to trick out your mattress with additional options such as massage motors and custom remote controls.
