Jay-Z and Beyoncé Knowles were married last week in New York City, said E! Online. The hip-hop superstars, who have been together for six years, decorated the roof of their penthouse apartment with silver candelabras and 60,000 white orchids from Thailand. Two dozen guests, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin, and Knowles’ former Destiny’s Child band mates, partied past 4 in the morning. The groom, meanwhile, is close to signing a $150 million, 10-year contract with the concert promoter Live Nation.
Supermodel Naomi Campbell was arrested at London’s Heathrow airport last week after allegedly throwing a violent fit when one of her carry-on bags went missing. Campbell, who has a history of such temper tantrums, refused to cooperate when the flight crew asked her to leave the airplane, and then punched and spit on a police officer who was called to help, said Scotland Yard. She was released on bail and told to appear in court next month.
Rob Lowe and his wife are suing their former nanny, claiming she threatened to spread a story of sexual harassment unless they paid her $1.5 million. “No one intimidates my family,” said Lowe in Huffingtonpost.com. “We will defend ourselves with vigor and without fear.” Lowe is seeking at least $1 million from the woman. In his public statement he produced a text message she sent after leaving her job, in which she wrote, “I have nothing bad 2 say about your family.” He also said his other employees would refute the woman’s claims and added that a colleague told him that the nanny had confessed to having a crush on Lowe and wished he’d leave his wife.

Left-wing talk-radio host Randi Rhodes was suspended from Air America radio after calling Geraldine Ferraro “David Duke in drag” and Hillary Clinton “a big f-----g whore” at a public event in San Francisco. “Air America encourages strong opinions about public affairs, but does not condone such abusive, ad hominem language,” said a spokesman for the network.
