Good Day, Bad Day
Keeping it in the family, buying American
GOOD DAY FOR: Keeping it in the family, after News Corp.’s MySpace reached a deal with Britain’s ShineReveille to distribute MySpaceTV content on TV and DVD outside the U.S. The deal will help MySpaceTV shows like Quarterlife and Roommates reach an international audience. ShineReveille is part of the Shine Group, founded by News Corp. head Rupert Murdoch’s daughter, Elisabeth Murdoch. (Reuters)
BAD DAY FOR: Buying American, after American Airlines grounded another 900 flights today, bringing the three-day total to more than 2,400. The airline said it faces “significant” costs related to giving vouchers and hotel stays to the estimated quarter-million passengers it has stranded this week. AMR’s shares closed down $1.15 yesterday, to $9.17 a share. (AP in Yahoo!Finance)
