O.J. Simpson was facing the possibility of
a jail term this week, after two men arrested
with him in Las Vegas last month accepted
deals to testify against him in exchange for
reduced charges. Walter Alexander pleaded
guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery and
Charles Cashmore admitted to acting as an
accessory in a plot to steal Simpson memorabilia
from a Vegas hotel. The men will testify
that the crime was planned and directed
by Simpson, said Cashmore’s attorney. If
convicted, Simpson could be sent to prison.
“Coming [to court] today is one of the hardest
things I’ve ever had to do,” said Cashmore.
Jennifer Lopez is pregnant with twins,
said Us Weekly. The 38-year-old singer and
her husband, Marc Anthony, have not yet
confirmed the story, but Lopez’s mother,
Guadalupe, has spilled the beans to her
friends, said the magazine. Last week, Lopez
teased her audience at Madison Square
Garden, announcing, “God has finally blessed
me … to be here with you.”
Don Imus, who was fired from CBS Radio
six months ago for referring to black female
basketball players
as “nappy-headed
ho’s,” was hired
this week by New
York City’s WABC
radio. The station
will pay him at
least $5 million a
year, and plans to
syndicate the program
across the
country on radio
stations owned
by giant Citadel
Broadcasting. “He
didn’t break the
law,” said Citadel
CEO Farid Suleman. “He’s more than paid
the price for what he did.”
