Detectives in California's Central Valley this week busted a criminal ring that allegedly stole more than 35 tons of almonds and walnuts. Sukhwinder Singh Grewal, 41, and Amrik Singh, 27, were arrested and charged with stealing nuts worth $2 million from several processors in the fertile agricultural region around Sacramento. A local resident alerted police after seeing workers deliver 50-pound boxes of nuts from several different processors to a northern Sacramento warehouse. Police say the nuts will be returned to their rightful owners.
