Mall under fire
The week's news at a glance.
Tacoma, Wash.
A Washington man opened fire with two assault rifles in a shopping mall this week, injuring six people, one critically. The alleged gunman, Dominick Sergio Maldonado, 20, then hid in a Sam Goody music store, holding four people hostage for several hours before giving up peacefully. Shortly before the shooting, Maldonado sent ex-girlfriend Tiffany Robison a text message saying, “Today is the day the rest of the world will know my anger,” Robison told ABC’s Good Morning America. “I think honestly that he just wanted attention,” Robison said.
