After confirming the transfer of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal, United boss Jose Mourinho is now targeting Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri. The Sun says that United are “pushing hardest” to sign Seri, 26, who saw a move to Barcelona fall through last summer.
Raheem Sterling: City star set to sign new deal
The Daily Mirror reports that Manchester City want to tie Raheem Sterling to a new contract following the England star’s impressive performances so far this season. The 23-year-old forward has scored 18 goals this campaign and City will offer him a contract until 2023 with a basic salary of £220,000-a-week.
Emre Can: Liverpool to Juventus
Liverpool midfielder Emre Can is “not certain” to sign for Juventus says the Italian club’s general manager Beppe Marotta. Can is out of contract at the end of the season and it appeared that he would sign a deal with Juve, but the German midfielder has other offers to consider as well as a new deal at Anfield. Quoted by the Daily Mirror, Marotta said: “For Emre Can, our interest is clear. We want to try to bring him to us, but it is not certain we will succeed because at the moment he has a contract offer from Liverpool and could renew.”
Andre Schurrle: Borussia Dortmund to West Bromwich Albion
West Brom are interested in signing German World Cup winner Andre Schurrle on loan from Borussia Dortmund. According to the Daily Mail, Dortmund are “willing to pay part of his £140,000-a-week wages”. Schurrle, who previously played in the Premier League with Chelsea, is out of favour at the Bundesliga club.
Danny Welbeck: Arsenal to Besiktas/Crystal Palace
Despite interest from Besiktas and Crystal Palace, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has said that striker Danny Welbeck will not be leaving the Emirates during the January transfer window. Wenger told talkSPORT: “I want Danny Welbeck to stay here.”
Aleksandar Mitrovic: Newcastle to Brighton/West Brom
According to sources at Sky Sports, Brighton have made an offer for Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic. West Brom are also interested in signing the 23-year-old Serbian international, who has scored 14 league goals for Newcastle since signing in 2015.
Javier Mascherano: Barcelona to Hebei China Fortune
Barcelona have announced that Javier Mascherano will be leaving the Catalan giants this week. The Argentine international has been with Barca for seven-and-a-half years and has won 18 titles during his time at the Camp Nou. Various media outlets report that Mascherano has signed for Chinese Super League side Hebei China Fortune.
