Grandmother in custody after car-park shoot-out
A grandmother is in custody after a fight between her and another grandmother escalated into a shooting in a Walmart car park. Police say the two women, from Dallas, Texas, met to exchange custody of a child when the argument broke out, leading to Janice Brown, 53, shooting Carla Hawkins, 55, in the neck. Brown also allegedly fired her weapon at police responding to the incident.

Man starts housefire when guests won't leave
A man has been charged with arson after setting his apartment on fire when his guests wouldn't leave. Oklahoma police say Riley Harmon was "probably under the influence of an unknown substance" when he lit the fire, which caused extensive damage to the interior of his apartment. There were no reports of injuries.
Three arrested after mistaking hops for pot
Two men and a woman have been arrested after mistaking a crop of hops for marijuana and attempting to steal it. The trio, from Prince Edward Island, Canada, were spotted entering a barn where the hops were being stored for sale. When confronted by police, they admitted they thought the farm was being used to grow marijuana.
