According to the Daily Mail the Argentine is being tracked by the Blues and their interest has come to the attention of Inter's sporting director Piero Ausilio. Asked if the club would sell the 22-year-old if they received a big enough bid this summer, Ausilio replied: "We've got no intention of doing business. We're thinking of the present and future of this football club with Icardi … We're building a team to last for a long time with very talented, young players."

The 21-year-old Argentine striker has been in eye-catching form this season in La Liga, scoring 16 goals all told, and caughtoffside claims that Reds boss Brendan Rodgers had identified the young hitman as a player who could add some bite to the Liverpool attack. Told of Liverpool's interest, Vietto is quoted as saying: "If these great teams come forward and make an offer, we'll see."
