Citing odds from Betfair, the Daily Mirror says that the Belgium World Cup star is favourite to take Ronaldo’s place at the Bernabeu. PSG duo Kylian Mbappe and Neymar have also been linked with the Spanish giants.
Football.London reports that Chelsea’s main summer priority is to keep Hazard, but that has become harder now that Real have a Ronaldo-sized hole to fill.
Higuain and Dybala to leave Juve?
Former Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello predicts that Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain “is going to Chelsea”, Football Italia reports. Another Juve forward whose future is uncertain is Paulo Dybala. Metro reports that Liverpool are ready to offer £80m for the Argentine.
What happens to Bale?
Now that Ronaldo has left Real Madrid, where does Gareth Bale’s future lie? It was rumoured that the Welsh star wants more first-team football and could leave the Spanish club. But according to ESPN, Bale’s agent has said that Ronaldo’s exit won’t affect his client’s future. Bale, a reported target for Manchester United, still needs to sit down for talks with Real officials.
Chelsea open talks with Kante
The Blues have opened contract talks with midfielder N’Golo Kante. The French World Cup star is a target for Paris Saint-Germain, but Chelsea will aim to keep him at Stamford Bridge by offering a new deal worth £200,000 a week. (Daily Express)
Lewandowski wants to quit Bayern
Following reports yesterday said that Robert Lewandowski was ready to stay at Bayern Munich, there are contrary claims today that the Polish striker is in fact “desperate to quit” the German champions. Lewandowski has been linked with Chelsea and Real Madrid. (Daily Star)
Xherdan Shaqiri: Stoke City to Liverpool
Liverpool are in talks with Stoke over a move for Swiss forward Xherdan Shaqiri. Following Stoke’s relegation from the Premier League, Shaqiri reportedly has a £13m release clause in his contract, which Liverpool are ready to trigger. (The Daily Telegraph)
Yerry Mina: Barcelona to Everton
Everton are preparing a £21m bid for Barcelona defender Yerry Mina. The Colombia international centre-half scored three goals at the World Cup in Russia. (Goal.com)
Foxes to offer new deal to Maguire
Harry Maguire has been one of the stars of England’s run to the World Cup semi-finals, and now his club Leicester City want to offer him a “bumper new contract” to make him one of their highest-paid players. The defender has this week been linked with Tottenham and Liverpool. (Leicester Mercury)
