Gonzalo Higuain: Juventus to AC Milan/Chelsea
Chelsea could miss out on signing key target Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus after it emerged that AC Milan have “stepped up their bid” to sign the Argentine.
Blues’ new boss Maurizio Sarri managed Higuain at Napoli and it was reported that the striker was “earmarked to lead the attack this season”, the Evening Standard reports.

Chelsea had hoped that a £57m deal would bring the 30-year-old to Stamford Bridge, but Milan’s interest may scupper their plans.

United and Chelsea are both keen on Bayern Munich’s £62m-rated midfielder Thiago Alcantara and have enquired about his availability. The German champions want to keep the 27-year-old Spanish international, who has also been linked with a return to Barcelona. (ESPN)
Napoli reject Koulibaly bid
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed that the Italian club rejected a £90m bid for defender Kalidou Koulibaly this summer. De Laurentiis said the bid came from a Premier League club but the Serie A side are “not negotiating”. (Daily Mail)
Pep rules out move for Pjanic
Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic had been linked with a move to Manchester City but boss Pep Guardiola has denied he is interested in signing the 28-year-old Bosnian. (BBC via RMC Sport)
West Ham target more signings
New West Ham United boss Manuel Pellegrini has already spent close to £100m in the summer transfer window but he has revealed that more players could join the east London club. (The Daily Telegraph)
Andre Schurrle: Borussia Dortmund to Fulham
German forward Andre Schurrle is set to sign for Fulham on a two-year loan deal from Borussia Dortmund. The former Chelsea player, who was linked with Crystal Palace and AC Milan, is expected to have a medical today. (Sky Sports)
Thibaut Courtois: Chelsea to Real Madrid
Real Madrid have today been linked with a move for Tottenham’s World Cup-winning goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, but according to reports they are also still chasing Chelsea No.1 Thibaut Courtois. It’s claimed that the European champions have agreed terms with the Belgian international. (Daily Mail)
